Made for the Community
The Databricks Certification MCQ Generator was built with the Databricks community in mind — for not just us internally working at Databricks to prep but for the broader users. As such, I invite feedback, suggestions, and insights from all users to continually improve this tool.
Personal Initiative and Self-Funded Hosting:
This project isn’t sponsored by Databricks — yet. Currently, I’m able to shoulder the expenses — LLM serving, computing, hosting, and domains. If # of users grow exponentially, I might need monetary help from community to scale the infrastructure. Otherwise, I’ll face the tough choice of shutting it down because this added expense was not exactly endorsed by my life partner! 😄 Will see when time comes; enjoy it for now!

Personally, why did I create this?
After my last article on the ML Certification Study Guide, I received much appreciation from Databricks internally and outside, on Slack, Medium, Linkedin, and the broader community. The overwhelming response, coupled with requests on other certification guides, sparked this solution. Given my busy work schedule, I was struggling to get time to write for each but I did capture my personal .doc notes and those notes which were intended for certification guides blog posts (I was working on collecting cert materials for last 5 months!). That transformed into the backbone of this RAG tool.
With my current proficiency in LLMs, I thought why not build an RAG application that takes my captured notes based on user cert selections and generates quizzes. While there are ample resources available for learning Databricks, but practice materials that accurately reflect the certification exams’ complexity and format are scarce.
And so I chose to act to bridge this gap! Rather than taking the long road of putting ideas internally, promoting for votes, creating a PRD, and getting approval, I just went ahead on build a working tool! Now, I might pitch this idea internally at Databricks only if I see good traction here. This is my AB testing! Let me know if this interests you or if you have other ideas.
